First Day in the Amazon 1/21

Today was our first day on the boat! We left the dock in the morning and cruised down the Rio Negro to the "meeting of the waters" - where the Rio Negro meets the Amazon River. In the afternoon, we headed out on smaller boats to fish for piranha. Once it got dark, we went back out on the boats and spotted alligators!

First Full Day!

Today, we enjoyed a continental breakfast before walking to our first class. After class, we ate a buffet lunch before taking a bumpy bus ride to the Jardim Botanico do Rio De Janeiro. We did some sketching and toured the gardens. We got back around dinnertime and hit the beach as a group for a couple hours. We didn't have scheduled dinner, but all decided to go out to eat as a group. Even though we've only been here two days, we are getting along really well! Everyone is enjoying each other's company :) Sarah and Chris
